Carers' permits
Carers' permits are issued to residents living within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) who require essential home visits by a doctor, district nurse or a similar healthcare professional.
Residents can pass their carer's permit to such visitors to enable them to park in a Resident Permit Holders Only or Permit Holder Only parking place during the controlled hours. The permit can only be used where the zone letters on the permit match the letters on the signs.
The permit must be placed in a holder provided and hung from the vehicle’s rear view mirror, so that the details are clearly visible from outside the vehicle. To apply for a carer's permit you need to complete part of the application form and ask your doctor to complete the other part confirming that you require home visits. We will also need proof of residence.
Please send copy documents by post. We do not have a public counter. Carers permits are issued free of charge.
