Visitor vouchers
Visitor vouchers or Visitor Parking Permits are scratch-cards valid for one day that can be purchased by residents who live within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
Residents can pass these on to visitors (including builders and service providers) to allow a vehicle to park in a 'Resident Permit Holders Only' or 'Permit Holder Only' parking place during the controlled hours. The vouchers can only be used where the zone letter(s) displayed on the voucher is the same as the letter(s) on the signs.
To apply for visitor vouchers you need to apply to create a visitor voucher account.
- We will need a completed application form and proof of residency
- Please send photocopied documents by post. We do not operate a public counter.
- Visitor vouchers cost £10 per book and each book contains ten vouchers.
- Residents may only purchase a maximum of 20 books (200 vouchers) within a 12 month period.
Five Free Visitor Vouchers from 1 April
Five visitor vouchers are available free of charge to every household that purchases both one (or more) resident parking permit and one book of (ten) visitor vouchers.
This scheme is intended to help resident permit holders deal with the inevitable parking needs that arise when visitors call during the controlled hours. This scheme will become operational on 1 April 2006.
- Each household that has a resident permit gets five free vouchers every 12 months in addition to any vouchers they purchase.
- These five extra vouchers would be in addition to the maximum entitlement of 200 vouchers in a 12 month period.
There is no need to claim your free vouchers. If you have a valid resident permit and purchase a book of (ten or more) visitor vouchers we will automatically send you your complimentary book of five vouchers.

Conditions
The five free visitor vouchers only apply to residents of the borough and are issued on a household basis, with a valid resident permit, and not per occupant or permit holder.
The five free visitor vouchers are only given after the issue of the first ten vouchers purchased and not every ten.
The free vouchers are given only once per annum based on the date of issue of the free vouchers and thus cannot be issued again until another 12 months has passed.

Proof of residence
Proof of residence must show the current name and address of the applicant and may be any one of the following:
- Recent utility bill (within the last six months) - gas, electricity, water or land-line telephone, (not a mobile phone bill)
- Council or housing association rent book
- A current household contents insurance policy
- Benefits or pension book
- Current Council Tax bill
- Tenancy agreement
- Recent (within the last six months) Bank or Building Society statement

Purchasing visitor vouchers
When you have an account you can order visitor vouchers by posting us a cheque or postal order (made payable to the ‘London Borough of Barnet’).
Please request the number of books of visitor vouchers that you require and quoting your account number or call our 24-hour automated permit line on 0845 130 99 88 and follow the instructions.
Automated Permit Line
When you call the automated line you will be asked to enter your account number.
After checking your postcode you will then be prompted to enter your credit/debit card details. You will then be advised of confirmation of payment and given a payment reference number.
The visitor vouchers will be posted to you the next working day.
