Senior salaries
The Government has set out its clear commitment to improve transparency about how it spends its money. This includes details of the size and shape of public bodies and the remuneration provided to senior public servants. The information and data format is published in line with the code of recommended practice for local authorities on data transparency, which sets out key principles for local authorities in creating greater transparency through the publication of public data.
Under the code individuals have the option to refuse to consent for their name to be published, and so not all names are listed. However, all salaries above £58,200 (the Senior Civil Service minimum pay band) are shown, and the council will continue to publish senior salary information in line with relevant guidance and best practice.
