Supporting young people in Barnet
The Youth and Community Service provide targeted youth workers, who are working with the borough's most vulnerable young people, with the aim of supporting them to resolve difficulties and re-engage with education, employment, or training. We work with schools, parenting support, families and local community organisations.
We also offer a wide range of positive activities throughout the year for young people across the borough. For further information on please see our young people's organised activities page.
The Youth and Community Service provide a confidential place for young people to speak to a youth support worker without an appointment for advice in the following areas:
- careers advice and guidance
- sexual health advice
- drug and alcohol advice
- access to counselling
- engagement in local community activities.
We also provide a confidential, counselling service for young people at Canada Villa Youth Centre throughout the week by appointment
