You will find so much to read for fun and for help with homework whether you visit the library, or borrow our books online. There are also lots of great activities to go to during the school holidays and all year long.

Join our Summer Reading Challenge! Get caught up in books over the long summer break and you can receive a medal and certificate for reading six books. 

Other regular activities for primary school children include:   

  • Book discoverers: a monthly reading group for children to talk about and share the books they enjoy and take part in fun craft activities and games
  • Checkmates chess club: young people can learn more about chess and play fellow enthusiasts
  • Game on: a gaming club for 8 to 13 year olds to enjoy a range of Wii and Playstation games
  • Craft club: a weekly arts and crafts activity with a chance to talk about the best books around
  • Board game fun: a club where children can make friends and play their favourite board games
