Experts by experience
We are committed to working with people who use our services and those who care for them to ensure we are providing high-quality support which meets the needs of Barnet residents. It is important to us that users of services are at the heart of everything we do, so we aim to involve people from the beginning to review and evaluate our current services, and help design services for the future.
To help us do this, we have an Experts by Experience group. Through this group we are able to bring together the views and ideas of people who have experience of adult social care services, and family carers.
The group aims to represent all the different groups of people that Adults and Communities support, such as people with mental health problems, people with learning disabilities, older people, and people with physical and sensory impairments.
The group meet every month to discuss current transformation projects and have their say about possible changes to the way services are delivered.
The Experts by Experience group and its members have the following role and responsibilities:
- to provide objective and constructive feedback on their experiences in accessing adult social services
- to help redesign services, improve efficiency and drive up quality
- to support the development of the Experts by Experience group for the future.
