Adopted Local Plan - Core Strategy DPD
The Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents were adopted by the Council on the 11 September 2012. Planning policies in the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents replace policies in the Unitary Development Plan (2006). The adopted Core Strategy can be accessed by navigating to this page and clicking on the downloads box on the right hand side of the screen.
Consultation on Further Proposed Changes to the Core Strategy & Development Management Policies DPDs
The Inspector has now submitted his report to the Council.

Adoption of the Core Strategy as a document for making planning decisions, is expected in September 2012.
Upon adoption the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents will replace 170 policies in the Unitary Development Plan (UDP) as the planning framework for Barnet. Both the Core Strategy and Development Plan Policies adopted version documents can be downloaded from the download box which is located on the right hand side of the screen.

Following the Joint Examination in Public (EIP) further proposed changes were made to both the Core Strategy and the DM Policies documents and another round of consultation was conducted to allow stakeholders and members of the public to raise any issues regarding these proposed changes.
The further proposed changes to the Core Strategy and DM Policies are set out in Schedule 1. Schedule 2 lists the monitoring indicators for both documents. These and other supporting documents are available to download from the 'download' section on the right along with the representations (comments) received through the consultation process. All representations made regarding the further proposed changes and how they relate to the soundness of either DPD were sent to the Programme Officer - Mrs Vijaya Ram (contact details on the right). The Planning Inspector - Mr Vincent Maher - will review these comments before finalising his report.
Joint Examination in Public
The council submitted the Core Strategy and Development Management (DM) Policies documents to the Secretary of State on 16 August 2011 for Examination in Public (EIP). The Examination in Public took place between 6 December and the 14 December 2011.

Core strategy pre-submission amendments consultation
11 May to 22 June 2011
The pre-submission amendments provided the final opportunity for public consultation on the changes to the Core Strategy document before it was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination. This additional round of consultation focussed on the amendments rather than the whole document. The submission documents, which will be inspected by an independent Planning Inspectorate, as well as the supporting documents for the Core Strategy, are listed in the downloads section on the right.
