Consultation on draft revised local list

17th July to 9th September 2019

The Council has undertaken a review of the list of Buildings of Local Architectural or Historic Interest (‘the Local List’). Following the adoption of new selection criteria by the Council, a survey of the borough was undertaken between 2017 and 2018 by local volunteers to assess entries already on the list and to identify new nominations. These nominations were considered by a Review Board, which included Barnet’s Conservation Officers and Councillors, Historic England, Urban Vision CIC and members of local amenity societies, where they were evaluated against the selection criteria. Nominations considered to comply with the criteria were added to the draft Local Heritage List.

Important information: The List is set out on an alphabetic, street-by-street index and includes photographs and descriptions of each heritage asset. To find your property please open the document and press Ctrl+F to pull up a search box. Type in the name of your street and you should be taken to the first heritage asset entry for that street. Please note some streets will still require you to manually scroll to your particular entry.

The council are now inviting owners and interested parties to submit any comments they wish to make in regard to the heritage assets contained on the List. Comments should be sent by email to LocalList.Consultation@Barnet.gov.uk or by letter to:
