Countdown to the London Assembly elections begins

Published Monday 6 February 2012

With less than 100 days to go until the election for the Mayor of London and the 25 members of the London Assembly, a new website has been launched to keep all voters, candidates and community groups

The London Elects website will keep electors in the loop about key events in the run up to the election on May 3rd.

90 per cent of residents in Barnet are currently registered to vote. A helpline will be launched by Barnet Council in March offering residents a wide range of advice from how to apply for a postal or proxy vote, where to find their polling station and checking they are on electoral register.

The people you vote for in this election are responsible for many aspects of your everyday life – from the underground, local bus services, and policing, to green spaces, air quality and Trafalgar Square.

To have your say on 3 May, you need to make sure that you are registered to vote where you live before 18 April 2012.

As the election day approaches more features will be added to the London Elects website including a polling station finder and a full list of candidates.

London Elects is the official, politically neutral source of information for the public, political parties, candidates, the media and electoral administrators.
