The Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Caroline Stock, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Lachhya Bahadur Gurung, raise the Armed Forces flag outside the Town Hall for Armed Forces Week.

The event will be held on Saturday 29 June at 10am at the RAF Museum, Grahame Park Way, Colindale, to pay tribute to our serving and ex-servicemen and women.

The event will be attended by the Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Caroline Stock, the Representative Deputy Lieutenant, Martin Russell, CEO of the RAF Museum, Maggie Appleton, and other dignitaries and civic guests.

The annual ceremony is one of many taking place across the country to recognise those currently serving and those who have served.

The Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Councillor Caroline Stock, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to partner with the RAF Museum for this occasion. Barnet is closely connected to the armed forces and this day is a great opportunity to recognise our service men and women, past and present, for their bravery and dedication to the Forces.”

After the parade the programme will continue at the RAF Museum with music from the North London Military Wives Choir and the Barn-ettes, a vintage trio. There will also be opportunities to dress up in RAF uniform and have your photos taken in the booth.

Also, to mark this special occasion, weather permitting, The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be flying the Avro Lancaster Bomber over the museum.

Armed Forces Day is free to attend, but there will also be the opportunity to step over the barriers and get up close to a selection of aircraft. Just purchase an Aircraft Access ticket in advance or pick up a wristband on arrival. This will get you access to aircraft like the Phantom, Sea King and Chipmunk. Tickets and wristbands are just £5 for adults or children and you can book by clicking the link below, for more information and our terms and conditions:
