A Notice of Vacancy for East Barnet Ward has today been published following the resignation of Cllr Jo Cooper.
An East Barnet by-election to elect a new councillor will be held on Thursday 6 May 2021.
Following three years in office, Councillor Jo Cooper attributed her resignation to work commitments in the NHS and thanked all who have supported her during her time as a councillor.
An Edgware by-election for the vacancy following the sad passing of Councillor Brian Gordon in autumn 2020 will also be held on Thursday 6 May, having been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Nominations for candidates for both the East Barnet and Edgware by-elections will be open from 30 March. A list of candidates standing in each by-election will be available on Friday 9 April.
The Mayor of London, London Assembly and East Barnet and Edgware by-elections will all take place on Thursday 6 May.
