The problem of anti-social behaviour is often carried out by a minority of troublemakers who like to reduce the quality of life for other residents. It causes real misery for the people who experience it, and we are committed to stopping it throughout our council housing stock.
Council housing in Barnet is managed by an arms-length management organisation called Barnet Homes, which has a dedicated anti-social behaviour team to deal with all problems which may arise.
Barnet Homes take all complaints seriously and will act quickly and decisively, working in partnership with the police and other agencies to take action against perpetrators and support those who are experiencing it.
It treats all information you give confidentially and will not use it without your consent. Barnet Homes will work with you to find solutions that are right for your case, either informally through mediation or by taking legal action.
What is anti-social behaviour?
The term ‘anti-social behaviour’ is very broad, and includes all types of behaviour that interfere with the quiet enjoyment of your home. Some of the most common examples are:

Barnet Homes will contact you quickly to confirm who is dealing with your case and make arrangements to discuss your concerns. In serious cases, the officer will want to see you within 24 hours, and can meet at your home, in the housing office or elsewhere.
The organisation will support you at all times, especially if legal action is being taken. You will be kept informed about what is happening and Barnet Homes can also improve your home security.
