The full increase for 2009 is 5.0% although it will be less if you retired after 21 April 2008.There is no increase payable this year if you retired after 22 March 2009. The increase is effective from 6 April 2009 so your pension for April will be 5 days at the old rate and 25 days at the increased rate.

If you have a Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP) some of the increase will be paid within your State Pension. More details on pensions increase can be found at :pensions increase.
