Regeneration projects
Barnet has embarked on a major programme to regenerate its four largest housing estates and create a new town centre in Cricklewood.
The regeneration of Cricklewood, Brent Cross and West Hendon is a £4 billion regeneration scheme with a vision to “create a new gateway for London and a vibrant urban area in Barnet”.
The regeneration of Dollis Valley will see the creation of a new sustainable neighbourhood with mixed tenure housing supported by community, health and transport facilities.
The regeneration proposals for Grahame Park form a central part of the Colindale Development Plan, that aims to create a vibrant new community with major infrastructure improvements, improved transport links and community health facilities.
This scheme will provide a new balanced, mixed tenure community that incorporates high standards of design, facilities, open spaces, and community amenity. It will also create job and training opportunities for the local residents.
The proposals for West Hendon will see the creation of a new integrated community and the replacement of the existing estate with new mixed tenure housing, a new town square, improved transport links, a range of new community facilities and economic and social regeneration initiatives.
