Social Worker (Children in Care Team, Looked After Children)

£40,116.00 - £51,325.00 Per Annum

We are looking for skilled, dynamic and motivated Social Workers within our Children in Care Team who have a passion for achieving excellence and the ability to drive change for children and young people in Barnet. If this is you, you could be the person we are looking for!

We are looking for:

An experienced social worker who can demonstrate creative and analytical thinking and share our passion in achieving the best for our looked after children. 

You will have recent experience of working as a case holder for Looked After Children and have excellent skills in developing and implementing timely and effective care plans and pathway plans with children and young people to achieve permanency and stability in their placements.

You will have a thorough understanding of risk assessments, safety planning and working with partners to keep our children and young people safe. Working directly with a varied caseload of children in care from a few months old to 18 years old and supporting them through their journey as their corporate parents.

Business Support Officer - Parenting Centre

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly organised Business Support Officer to join and support the work of the Early Years Parenting Hub (EYPH) team.

An exciting and innovative new service, the EYPH’s work includes the provision of intensive programmes of therapeutic and parenting work, including Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT), attachment-based parenting interventions, and video guidance to support changes in parent and child interactions.  The EYPH works closely with Early Years/Early Help and Children’s Social Care Services to have a holistic, child focused approach.

£47,841.00 to £52,886.00 per annum

The Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Team has an opportunity for a permanent Conference and Review Officer to chair child protection conferences and lead in strengthening and maintaining high quality multi-agency safeguarding practice and plans.

Clinical Practitioner

LAC Clinical Practitioner (Clinical Psychologist or systemic psychotherapist)

An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a 4-day LAC clinical psychologist or systemic psychotherapist. We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic clinical psychologist or systemic psychotherapist who has an interest working with looked after children, to join Barnet’s Integrated Clinical Services (BICS), a CYP MH Service for CYP and families presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties in the community and within social care. We are a strong, supportive, friendly multidisciplinary department. This post is equivalent to agenda for change Band 7 to 8a salary depending on experience. We welcome newly qualified clinical psychologists applicants.

Assistant Head of Service, Corporate Parenting

Allegations Team Manager (LADO)

£53,928.00 to £60,396.00 per annum


We are looking for an experienced Social Care Manager to fill our Allegations Team Manager (LADO) role. The post holder will ensure that the Authority fulfils its obligations for managing allegations against staff and volunteers working with children in any setting within the Authority area.

The LADO work is a high risk complex area of practice and the manager must ensure that all investigations and outcomes are carried out thoroughly and safely.

You will ensure that responses to allegations are dealt with fairly, consistently and expeditiously across all service areas, working positively and effectively in partnership with all stakeholders and partner agencies

Education Mental Health Practitioner

£31,557.00 to £34,884.00 per annum

In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people. 

The new Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.

These roles are funded by NHS England.

Early Help Social Worker (Advanced Practitioner)

£39,867.00 to £44,790.00 per annum


We have an exciting fulltime and permanent   opportunity available in Early Help South Hub. We are looking for a skilled, dynamic and motivated Advanced social work practitioner to join our busy team. You will need to be aspirational for children and young people and support families to use their ability to be resilient and minimise further statutory involvement or escalation.

The post holder will have the skills and ability to practice at a higher level which includes deputising for the line manager in circumstances where the line manager is not available.

They will demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations and be able to assess and manage thresholds and risk on their own and that of other 0-19 practitioners.

Advanced Practitioner (Fostering: Carer Assessment Team)

£45,847.00 to £59,000.00 per annum

The Carer Assessment Team undertakes initial viability assessments of family and friends for children needing permanency, as well as progressing to full Special Guardianship and Connected Carer Assessment to fully explore and assess whether permanence and stability can be provided for a child within their wider family or with connected persons.
