Short-term support

Your options below

If you need short-term, housing-related support, OUTREACH Barnet may be able to help. The service is free of charge if you live in Barnet and allows you to stay independently  living in your own home. Support is usually for up to 4 months.

Further information on the support offered, including how to make a referral, can be found on the OUTREACH website.

Help and support includes:

  • advice, advocate services and liaison with other agencies - including landlords, social services, care agencies and medical services

  • advice and support with housing repairs and maintenance issues

  • practical and/or emotional support in dealing with everyday tasks

  • help with applying for jobs, training or education

  • help with accessing and maximising welfare benefits

  • advice in reducing debts and managing rent arrears

  • advice with budgeting and dealing with utility bills

  • advice on alternative housing

  • resettlement advice when moving to a new home, including getting furniture

  • help to access culturally specific services

  • help to improve confidence and self-esteem.
