Lay Member role advert
Barnet Safeguarding Adults Board
An exciting new opportunity to volunteer has arisen at Barnet Safeguarding Adults Board.
We are looking for two members of the public to join the Board as Lay Members. Lay Members play an important role in the oversight and scrutiny of decisions and policies made by the Board. The Board is independent of the Council.
The multi-agency Safeguarding Adults Board in Barnet works to co-ordinate local prevention strategies and responses to safeguard adults with care and support needs from abuse and neglect.
As well as coordinating local strategies, the Barnet SAB has an equally important role to ensure that such work is effective. It will discharge this function by:
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of what is done by the local authority and all Board partners individually as well as collectively to safeguard and promote the welfare of adults, and by
- Advising Board partners on ways to improve
The Board meets on a quarterly basis, the dates for 2017 are:
- Thursday 27 April
- Thursday 13 July
- Thursday12 October.
This is a voluntary role but expenses will be paid.
