Mental health help in Barnet
If you're concerned that you or someone you know has a mental health problem, you should go to your local GP surgery first.
If you urgently need to speak to or see someone about your mental health outside of GP hours, you can:

Mental health assessment
You can see your GP, or contact the assessment service at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust, who will arrange a referral for you so someone can talk further with you about your needs.
The Barnet assessment service (formerly Triage) is made up of psychiatrists, social workers, mental health nurses and support staff. They can assess your mental health needs, signpost or refer you to other agencies, and provide information on how patients can recover through self-help. The service also offers a number of treatments including individual, group and family therapy.
Self referral therapy
There are some services which you are able to refer yourself to, such as psychological therapies. This includes a range of treatment programmes including one to one therapy, counselling and group work. Go to Let’s Talk for more information
Support from voluntary organisations
You can talk directly to a voluntary sector organisation offering mental health support. They can give advice about services available locally, and offer you group and individual support to overcome mental health problems.
If you need urgent mental health treatment you can self-refer to the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) team. The team sees patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in their home or in the community - at GP surgeries, A&E departments etc. You can contact the Barnet team on 0208 702 4040
If you're already a patient of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust and need urgent care you should contact your care coordinator between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours please contact the CRHT team (details above).
Support from local voluntary organisations
Eclipse Barnet is a mental health and wellbeing service that anyone in Barnet who has experienced mental health problems can access for free.
Eclipse offers activity and special interest groups, individual and group recovery support, training and employment opportunities and advice on wellbeing. It also works to tackle discrimination of those with mental health problems.
Barnet Multilingual Wellbeing Service
Barnet Multilingual Wellbeing Service is a partnership of mother-tongue counselling services. The group aim to support and signpost people to specialist services and teams within Barnet. They are based at the Information and Advice Centre at Edgware Community Hospital (Burnt Oak Broadway, HA8 0AD).

Barnet Voice for Mental Health run 2 weekly support sessions for local people with mental health problems. These include a range of activities such as reading, walking, art, and games, depending on the interests of those attending. Sessions take place on Monday afternoons in Edgware, and Friday afternoons in Finchley.
