Kennedy Leigh Family Centre and Pears Wing for Children

Norwood's Kennedy Leigh Centre is a child-focused centre housing the Pears Wing for Children. It operates an open-door policy, welcoming anyone from the Jewish community and beyond who wishes to use its facilities. Referrals are received from health practitioners, teachers, social workers, rabbis and others. Staff work with individuals and families in many situations, allowing them to offer support in areas including family breakdown, bereavement, social disadvantage and disability. Services available at the Centre include: a twins and triplets group; a toy library; a parenting group to encourage parents to think about how they talk and listen to their children; Rainbow which offers mothers the opportunity to receive support and share their experiences of bringing up a child with special needs; and On n up where children aged 7 - 11 can explore and express their feelings in a positive way. Pre-booking for all groups is essential.
