Remembrance Sunday services

  • Council and democracy

This weekend, Barnet will join other boroughs, towns and cities and pause to pay tribute to those who have lost their lives in conflict to mark Remembrance Day across the UK.

All members of the community are invited to join the services being held around the borough.

The Mayor will lay a wreath at the Hendon memorial on behalf of the borough at a parade and service. Two minutes of silence will be observed at 11am on Sunday 12 November.

Also in attendance will be Army Reserve personnel and cadets, councillors, ex-servicemen and women.

The Mayor said: “We will never forget the many people who joined our armed forces and made huge sacrifices for us while they served for their country.

“Every year on Remembrance Sunday, we pause to reflect and pay tribute to the brave people who fought for us in the two World Wars, as well as recent conflicts. I’m honoured to be able to lay this wreath to commemorate their memories on behalf of the people of Barnet.”
