Adopted Local Plan - Development Management Policies DPD
The Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents were adopted by the Council on 11 September 2012. Planning policies in the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents replace policies in the Unitary Development Plan (2006).
The Development Management Policies DPD sits beneath the Core Strategy in the hierarchy of the Local Development Framework. The policies within the Development Management document set out the detailed borough-wide implementation planning policies for development and forms the basis for local planning authority decision making.nd Development Management Policies documents will replace 170 policies in the Unitary Development Plan.
The Core Strategy and Development Management Policies have been subject to a number of amendments/modifications as part of the Examination in Public. These are the versions of the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents that the Council intends to adopt in September 2012.

Consultation on Further Proposed Changes to the Core Strategy & Development Management Policies DPDs
26 January to 8 March 2012
Following the Joint Examination in Public (EIP) further proposed changes were made to both the Core Strategy and the DM Policies documents and another round of consultation was conducted to allow stakeholders and members of the public to raise any issues regarding these proposed changes.
The further proposed changes to the Core Strategy and DM Policies are set out in Schedule 1. Schedule 2 lists the monitoring indicators for both documents. These and other supporting documents are available to download from the 'download' section on the right along with the representations (comments) received through the consultation process. All representations made regarding the further proposed changes and how they relate to the soundness of either DPD were sent to the Programme Officer - Mrs Vijaya Ram (contact details on the right). The Planning Inspector - Mr Vincent Maher - will review these comments before finalising his report.
Examination in Public
6 December to 14 December 2011
The Core Strategy was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on 16 August 2011 and a joint Examination in Public for the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies documents took place in December 2011.

Development Management Policies Submission draft consultation
11 May 2011 to 22 June 2011
The Development Management Submission draft provided the final opportunity for public consultation on the Development Management Policies document before it was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination. The submission documents which will be inspected by an independent Planning Inspectorate as well as the supporting documents for the Development Management Policies are listed below.

Development Management policies:preferred approach - 30 September 2010 to 25 November 2010
We produced and published our Preferred Approach in September 2010. This report was previously made available for public consultation in accordance with the Local Development Scheme. The Core Strategy and Development Management policies consultation report sets out how we publicised the Preferred Approach. The representations for Development Management policies Preferred Approach and Council's Response and Recommendations May 2011 sets out how we considered the 229 representations we received from 31 respondents.
