The regeneration of the Granville Road estate, situated within the Childs Hill Ward in the south of the borough, aims to create a mixed tenure, balanced community with new affordable homes for private sale and shared ownership.

Why regeneration is taking place

The proposals will employ sustainable construction techniques to meet local demand for new homes designed and built to a high standard.

Key facts

Planning permission has been granted for the partial redevelopment of the Granville Road estate. The scheme will deliver:

  • 132 new homes, comprising 74 flats and 58 houses - 25 of which will be affordable
  • 332 car parking spaces
  • landscaping and refuse provisions
  • a new play area
  • improved communal amenity space
  • construction job opportunities.

  • residents with secure tenure
  • resident leaseholders and freeholders
  • non-resident leaseholders and freeholders
  • tenants of non-resident leaseholders.

Who is delivering the regeneration?

The development is being delivered by New Granville LLP, a joint venture between Mulalley & Co Limited and One Housing Group.

Mulalley is a family owned construction company with an extensive track record of constructing and developing similar schemes to Granville Road. One Housing is a leading provider of affordable homes in London and the South East. Sherrygreen Homes (Mulalley’s sister company) will market and sell the new homes for sale.

How long will the work take

A build contract is currently being negotiated with Mulalley with a view to achieving an anticipated start on site in July 2017.

Between now and July 2017 surveys and investigations will be carried out in order to allow the completion of the construction design process.

It is envisaged that the development will be delivered in two phases to limit disruption to local residents. Once the development commences on site in July 2017 the aim is to complete phase 1 by December 2019 and phase 2 by July 2020.
