Pesach collection service 2017

  • Rubbish, waste and recycling

We are providing a dedicated Pesach collection service to the Jewish community.

New! Pesach Refuse and Chometz Collection points now arranged - see details below.

This refuse service will be in operation at houses and flats along 300-plus pre-designated roads, making it simple for residents to dispose of Pesach refuse and Chometz before Passover.

The pre-designated roads will be serviced by our refuse collection crews.

Check the Pesach roads list (PDF) to see if you live on a pre-designated road.

For residents who do not live on a designated road, we will be offering a pre-bookable collection service.

If you live on a pre-designated road

This year, there will be two scheduled collections:

  1. Sunday 9 April 2017, from 8am
Black refuse bins and black refuse sacks only

Please ensure your waste is contained securely in a black bin or sacks. Waste not presented in either refuse bins or refuse sacks will not be collected.
All black refuse bins and refuse sacks must be placed on the boundary of the property by 8am

  2. Monday 10 April 2017, from 12pm
    Black refuse sacks only
Please ensure waste is contained securely in black refuse sacks only – bins will not be collected. If Monday is your normal refuse collection day your service will operate as normal.

If you do not live on a pre-designated road

You can pre-book a free Pesach collection by emailing pesach@barnet.gov.uk or you can call 020 8359 4600.

Pesach bookings can be taken from 9am on Monday 27 March until 4pm on Wednesday 5 April 2017

Collections will take place:
Sunday 9 April 2017, from 8am
Black refuse bins and black refuse sacks only

Please note there will be no bag collections on Monday 10 April for residents who do not live on Pre-Designated Roads.

Any excess food waste can be placed in your brown food waste bin, black refuse bins or refuse sacks but and not in the green garden waste bin. Please do not overfill refuse bins or refuse sacks, as this could mean it may not be possible to collect these containers.

Please make use of any available capacity in your appropriate waste and recycling containers as part of the weekly collection schedules in advance of the Pesach collection service.

Collections of refuse, recycling and food waste, and green garden waste bins will take place on your usual collection days.
