Summers Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre

Take your unwanted household furniture for reuse to Fire Safety Labelthe centre. Items must be in good condition and where applicable have the fire safety label still attached. These items can also be donated to the onsite reuse shop 'Second Time Around'.

Barnet Furniture Centre

Barnet Furniture Centre collects donations of good quality furniture and sells second hand and vintage pieces. Everything from beds frames to coffee tables to crockery can be found at affordable prices at their warehouse in Friern Barnet.

Anyone is welcome to come and buy, and this scheme helps divert tonnes of furniture away from landfill and ensures they are re-used or recycled instead.

Kith and Kids

Kith and Kids collect furniture from the EN4, EN5, N11, N14, N12, N2 & N3 postcode areas in Barnet. There is no collection charge but furniture must be in saleable condition and electrical goods must be in working order. For more information, please contact Kith and Kids on 020 8880 9034.

Emmaus

Emmaus is a registered St Albans based homelessness charity who collect donated furniture, books, bric-a-brac, and white goods. They are happy to accept most household items but there are some exceptions for either legal or practical reasons, this includes soft furnishings without a fire label, safety items, baby equipment or any item that is not in a saleable condition. The donated items are available for sale at the following shop in Barnet:

The Loop @ Grahame Park Estate

Grahame Park Estate residents can get a free home collection service of unwanted household items.

Groundwork London is working to improve the estate environment, promote reuse, and reduce waste and fly-tipping at Grahame Park with a repurpose initiative called The Loop @ Grahame Park

Freecycle

This is a non-profit online group through which people in Barnet can give away items they no longer need, preventing them from going to landfill. The person receiving the item is required to collect the item from the person giving the item away. All items posted are free.

Please note: Barnet Freecycle Group is not run by Barnet Council.
