Educational psychologists can help with individual children, groups of children or staff, and can support schools in meeting children's needs more effectively by, for example, providing training for school staff or helping develop the school's Special Education Needs (SEN) or behaviour policy.

How to get get help for your child
Every Barnet school has an allocation of visits from their link educational psychologists. The Special Needs Coordinator (SENCo) in the school liaises closely with the link educational psychologist to plan ttheir work for the year.
Parents who have concerns about their child’s learning should, in the first instance, discuss these with the Class teacher/Form Tutor and possibly also the SENCo to agree a course of action. If the child attends an independent school, it is best to contact the Educational Psychology Team directly for advice by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
