National Offer Day - Wednesday 1 March

Offers

The outcome of your secondary transfer applications will be available during the evening of 1 March 2017. You should log in to your account on the www.eadmissions.org.uk website for the official notification of your school offer; no offer letters will be sent by post.

First Preference Offers

Offers which could have been made for any lower choice school have been automatically withdrawn.

Second to Sixth Preference Offers

If you receive an offer for a place at a school which was listed as a lower choice, it means that the higher choice schools received more applications than places available and other children had higher priority for the places. Find out more on how places were allocated (PDF).

Your child’s name has been placed on the waiting list(s) for the school(s) you prefer. Further information about waiting lists can be found further down this page.

Offers that could have been made at schools that were place as lower preference to the school that has been offered have been automatically withdrawn.

Alternative Offers (Allocation of a place at a that was not chosen)

If you do not receive an offer for a place at a selected school, it means that the school received more applications than place available and other children had higher priority for the places. Find out more on how places were allocated (PDF).

The alternative school you have been offered is usually the closest school with a vacancy. Your child’s name has been placed on the waiting list(s) of your preferred school(s). Further information about waiting lists can be found further down this page.

Below is a list of schools in Barnet and some other boroughs that currently have vacancies or short waiting lists. If you wish to apply for a place at any of these schools, please send an email to school.admission@barnet.gov.uk

Accepting / declining school offers

Please respond by logging on to your application at www.eadmissions.org.uk  Go to your 'My school admissions' page and then click on ‘View outcome and respond’ and submit your acceptance. You will then receive a confirmation email.

Accepting a place at school that is not the one you would most prefer will not affect your chances of being offered one of your top choice schools at a later date.

The deadline for accepting the school place you have been offered is 15 March 2017; offers will be withdrawn after this date if response is received.

Waiting lists

A small number of parents may decide not to accept the secondary school place that has been offered to their child and these places will then be offered to other children from the waiting lists in the second round of offers.

Your child’s name will automatically be placed on the waiting lists for any Barnet school which was a higher preference on your application form than the school you have been offered.

The second round of offers is scheduled to take place in the last week of March.

Appealing for a place at your preferred school(s)

You have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel against the decision not to offer your child a place at a school of your preference.

Appeals will not be heard until all the available places at the school have been offered and accepted and as no places are reserved for successful appeals, this means that any appeals allowed will increase the intake above the admission limit.

Late applications

If you have not already applied for a secondary school place for your child, you must submit an online application at www.eAdmissions.org.uk

Please look at the Secondary School Guide for more information on the school admission application process.
