The Area SENCOs in the Pre-school Inclusion Team promote inclusive learning environments within each of Barnets private, voluntary and independent pre-schools, children's centres and to network childminders. The team provide support to the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) in each early years provision in order to help her/him to carry out the SENCO role and duties. In addition, the Area SENCOs offer in-service training (INSET) to whole early years staff teams in order to promote inclusion of children with SEN in these settings. INSET may cover topics such as the identification of children with SEN, observation techniques, including children with behaviour or speech, language and communication needs etc. The Pre-school Inclusion Team offer new setting SENCOs an introductory training course. In addition, all pre-school setting SENCOs and managers are invited to termly early years SENCO Forums.The Pre-school Inclusion Team work closely with colleagues in the Advisory Teacher Team as well as Pre-school Learning Alliance colleagues. They are able to offer joint consultation visits in order to support all areas of the curriculum.

Timetable

Monday to Thursday 9am - 5.15pm and Friday 9am - 5pm
