Barnet Council has teamed up with the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) to deliver a series of events celebrating architecture, local art and cultural assets within the borough. We are delighted to be among the first outer London boroughs to participate in the festival which will run throughout June.

With more than 70 events, exploring this year’s theme ‘In Common’, Barnet’s LFA programme is packed full of exciting activities for all ages to get involved. Barnet Libraries are proud to be taking part with lots of events for Adults and Children throughout our Libraries.

Highlights for adults include our Time to Unwind…and Design! event at Golders Green Library where you can join us for board games, puzzles, crafts, mindful colouring and more all with a design / city theme. Or hear about ‘A day in the life of an architect: Joys and Tribulations’ at Hendon Library.

And we are very excited to have the Phoenix Cinema with its beautiful auditorium and grade 2 listing as a host venue for our screening of The Heights of London’s Underground. A film about Northern Heights Railway and its architecture, followed by a question and answer session with the film maker; The London Borough Barnet’s Heritage Officer, Hugh Petrie.
