As part of this year’s European Week for Waste Reduction, North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is holding the first ever ‘London Upcycling Show’ next month.
To give the event a competitive edge, north London residents are being invited to take part in an ‘upcycling’ competition.
North London residents can choose to enter in one of the following categories- to upcycle a: dining table; upright chair; armchair; side table; or cabinet. Items to be upcycled will be delivered to entrants free of charge to transform ahead of the London Upcycling Show. Entries will be judged by a panel of experts at the event, being held at Walthamstow Assembly Hall on Wednesday 30 November from 6-8pm.
The winners in each category will be awarded with a voucher worth £200 for the Goodlife Centre, which runs boutique workshops in a wide range of subjects including upholstery, woodwork and carpentry, furniture upcycling and restoration and various traditional hand crafts.
