Barnet Libraries and British Jews in the First World War: We Were There Too present:
An online evening with Lola and Ronnie Fraser discussing 'The Jewry Book of Honour'.
The British Jewry Book of Honour was published in 1922 in London to permanently record and honour the contribution made by the 50,000 Jews who served in the British and colonial forces during World War I. Sadly, over two thousand died.
Compiled from names given to Jewish Chaplains, the most senior, of whom, Rev Michael Adler sent the names to be published weekly in The Jewish Chronicle.
Lola and Ronnie Fraser will be speaking about the book, how it came into being and focusing on how the book was compiled as well as some of the stories of those who appear in its pages.
