Family Services Finance Manager, job share

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join our Family Services Finance Team.

You will be joining and leading a hardworking and busy finance support service team for Family Services.

You will be leading and ensuring sound financial infrastructure, policies, processes, standards and procedures are in place to support the business as well as monitoring compliance across Family Services.

You will be advising on budget management and provide strategic advice and guidance for senior leadership and managers within Family Services, including tracking and avoiding overspends.

You will be Departmental lead in building strong working relationship with partner organisations ensuring seamless transactional and monitoring services are provided to agreed standard. Lead on the development of innovative financial arrangements entered into with partner organisations, such as pooled budgets and joint financing. Recommend system developments and enhancements that meet current and future business requirements.

Ensure financial management systems remain accurate, timely and robust, and are operationally efficient and relevant in order to support the budget managers across Family Services as well as promoting comprehensive training and inductions in financial management to new staff.

A successful candidate would need to have a good understanding of local government financial management and monitoring. Excellent partnership working and a good understanding of contract procedure rules.

Financial Administration Officer

Hours: 36 hours per week

Salary: from £26,805 to £30,324

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to fill this post within the Finance Team in Family Services.

You will be providing a financial administrative and management service for Family Services.

You will be delivering high quality, responsive financial support, advice and information. As  an integral part of the team you will be providing financial management information and advice to budget holders to enable them to monitor and manage their budgets. Collate data and provide accurate management information with regard to grant income.

This includes accurate, timely and robust payments and budget management support, ensuring all systems and advice complies with the Council’s financial framework and policy.

Support the Senior Financial Admin Officer with the tasks relating to the management of the petty cash arrangements and pre-paid debit cards.

Good knowledge and experience of e-finance systems in a large organisation would be an advantage.
