I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the removal of children from religious education (RE) in schools that the local authority maintains.Could you please answer the following, all related to schools the LA maintains:1.How many children have been removed from RE for the 2025-26 academic year to date?2.How many children have been removed from RE in the past five years (2021-22 to 2025-26 academic years)?3.For the academic years 24-25 and 25-26, could you please provide the reason why the child was removed from RE in each individual case? E.g. parental request, medical or health reasons, etc.4.For the academic years 24-25 and 25-26, what is the age and year group of the children who have been removed from RE?If the request goes over the time limit, could you please prioritise in order of the bulleted numbers.
