Lyttleton Playing Field in Hampstead Garden Suburb
Received: 13 February 2026
I am writing regarding the recurring flooding of the Lyttelton playing fields in our area after rain. These fields are regularly waterlogged, which limits their use and suggests issues with soil compaction and drainage.I would be grateful if you could provide the following information:1.When were the playing fields last aerated or otherwise treated to improve soil drainage and reduce compaction?2.Please provide any records of maintenance or capital expenditure specifically for improving drainage or water management at the Lyttelton playing fields in the last financial year (e.g., aeration, drainage works, SuDS, soakaways).3.If there are planned improvements to drainage at these fields, including any sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) or other works, please detail these plans and their projected cost.Given the ongoing issues with flooding, I would also appreciate information on what measures the council is considering to prevent future waterlogging and improve the usability of the fields.
