Received: 23 February 2026

Q1.The Barnet Green spaces group had this statement in its recent Newsletter.Suzanne the Leader refers me to Barnet Parks to get more information. Please could I see a breakdown of the UKSPF grant showing how much each group received and how each group spent that money? 'Storage and tools for Friends GroupsThis year, we have provided storage and tools for friends groups, including Local Action for the Mutton Brook (LAMB), Friends of Watling Park, Friends of Stoneyfields Park, Friends of Lyttelton Playing Fields and Friends of the Silk Stream. This project was funded by UKSPF (UK Shared Prosperity Fund).'Q2 THE BEECH HEDGES BESIDE NORTHWAY NW11 BETWEEN NORTHWAY GARDENS AND FLETCHERS GARDENS.For over 125 years these Hedges were magnificent. Thick and tall in line with the other matching Beech Hedges all along Northway.Hampstead Garden Suburb is the major Conservation area in the UK it seems.Last year Parks cut back these hedges to 4 feet and thinned them as well. Andrew Arliss told me he had been instructed to do this.-Can I learn who instructed Mr Arliss? -What was the purpose? With Barnet's expensive emphasis on Bio Diversity does it seem with hindsight that these Hedges were a major asset for Wildlife and Birds? And free. Now they look ridiculous.
