Co-Living/Shared Living Schemes
Received: 23 July 2019
Following on from a call I made last week, where I was advised to contact the Council by email, I am writing to enquire about any Co-living or Shared living schemes that your planning department have dealt with, including any that may be pending a decision.
With part reference to policy H18 from the Draft London Plan Co-Living/Shared Living is defined as accommodation that provides an alternative to traditional flat shares and includes additional services and facilities, such as room cleaning, bed linen, on-site gym and concierge service. These have a minimum stay of 3 months.
If you can identify any of these Co/Shared Living schemes that have been submitted in the last 3 years I would be grateful if you could provide me with:
1. The planning application reference;
2. The address;
3. What use class the Co/Shared living development is classified under; and
4. Any comments about how the council view Co/Shared Living schemes be it positively or negatively and why this is the case.
Due to the current lack of policy or guidance on these schemes it is difficult to find information about them. Therefore any details you could provide would be much appreciated and will be used to inform a research paper into this emerging housing sub-sector.
Please do contact me if you have any questions.
