Freedom of Information request - Highway safety- criteria for taking measures to reduce risk/increase highway safety

This request is made under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act and Environmental Information Regulations and is submitted on behalf of Friern Barnet & Whetstone Residents' Association.

The term 'documents' used below includes documents whether in written or in electronic formats and includes reports, papers, notes, emails, letters and memoranda.

This request relates to the Council's criteria for setting the schedule for considering, approving and timetabling the implementation of measures to reduce risk/increase highway safety -

A. for vehicular traffic (including the imposition of 20 m.p.h. speed restrictions other than in proximity to schools;

B. for cyclists;

C. for pedestrians ( including provision and upgrading of pedestrian crossings and conversion of Zebra crossings to light controlled crossings).;

Please provide copies of the documents prescribing the relevant
criteria in respect of each of the above for determining -

1. the need for such measures (i.e.) the criteria which must be satisfied before the relevant measures will ordinarily be proposed for approval by Councillors / eligible for approval by Officers under delegated powers; and

2. the prioritisation of such measures once approved.
