North Central London Support After Suicide Service

Support for people bereaved by suicide who live, work or study in the London Boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.

The service supports people of any age but if children and young people are involved, the service will work with specialised agencies to ensure the right support services are in place.  

The service offers one-to-one support as well peer group support by a Suicide Bereavement Worker and a volunteer with lived experience of bereavement by suicide.

Rethink Mental Illness

The service is provided by Rethink Mental Illness and commissioned jointly by the 5 North Central London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.

Rethink Mental Illness staff have a wide range of experience in telephone helplines, mental health community support and mental health carers’ services. All Rethink staff have completed comprehensive mandatory training and are committed to continuing professional development.  All staff complete specific suicide prevention and bereavement training in addition to service based training, induction and supervision.  Rethink hold the Helplines Partnership External Quality Standards accreditation and the service is delivered to the industry best practice standards.
