Creative communities
Creative Communities is a Barnet Council initiative, led by the library service to deliver a programme of FREE events, activities, and experiences specifically for the residents of Colindale. A wide range of exciting events are being planned and delivered for children, teens and adults.

Sign-up Saturday at the RAF Museum
Join library staff at the RAF Museum to design, build and launch your own mini aeroplane, how far will yours fly?
Come along and take a selfie in an RAF uniform, sign up for the Gadgeteers Summer Reading Challenge and explore the Museum’s amazing aircraft
Saturday 16 July 12 noon to 2pm at RAF Museum Hendon.
Age guidance: 4 -12 year olds. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Discover Science for under-fives
A range of early years science activities will be set up in the library for children to explore and learn.

Walking Through the Jungle, What do you See?
A live interactive performance of Julie Lacome's much loved book. Follow a small child as he walks, creeps, leaps, and swings through the jungle in this lively adaptation.

Read Out Loud!
Read out loud reading group. Children will be provided with a play script and a character to read with the group, bringing to life children’s favourite stories.
Book ahead and collect a script or just turn up on the day and make reading fun. You can even come dressed as your favourite character!

Gadgeteers Drama workshop with Freshwater Theatre
Freshwater Theatre Company presents an interactive and engaging drama workshop to tie into this year's Summer Reading Challenge theme: The Gadgeteers! Using a mix of drama games and role-play, you will meet our scientist-inventor who wants to share their science machine with the Gadgeteers. But oh no! The machine is broken! They will need your help and enthusiasm for scientific discovery to fix the machine and show it off.

Create a STEM story with Ozobot
Using coding, robotics, LEGO and the power of our imaginations, we’ll create our very own STEM story.
Our main character is a clever line-following robot called ‘Ozobot’ - who can play any role we wish! In this workshop we’ll create our own narrative, create the setting by drawing and building with LEGO, then code our Ozobot to follow the story.
