Barnet residents and visitors are being invited to sign a Book of Condolence for the former President of Israel, Shimon Peres.

The signing will take place between Thursday 6 October until Wednesday 12 October from 10am-3pm, on weekdays only.

The book will be in a private room on the ground floor of Hendon Town Hall.

Mr Peres was the ninth President of Israel, as well as a Nobel peace prize laureate, and served from 2007 to 2014.

Leader of Barnet Council, Councillor Richard Cornelius, said: “We know many of our residents will want to sign our Book of Condolences for Shimon Peres after his sad passing away on September 28.

“We welcome this opportunity to show our respects as a community.”
