Barnet residents will have the chance to pay their respects to those who have died in conflicts around the world at Remembrance Day services across the borough this weekend.

Commemorations will be held on Sunday, 13 November 2022, with several services and parades open to the public.

The Mayor will be attending Hendon War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday and will lay a wreath on behalf of the Mayoralty, councillors and burgesses.

The Leader and Leader of the Opposition will be in attendance along with Armed Forces, veterans, cadets, representatives of the emergency services and the Salvation Army Band.

The Worshipful Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Alison Moore, said: “Remembrance Sunday is always a moving and reflective day as we come together to remember and honour those who lost their lives in conflict across the world.

“This year, as the spectre of war has risen once again with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we are reminded of the sacrifices so many have made that allow others to live in peace. Lest we forget.”

The Remembrance Sunday parade will be held at Hendon War Memorial, beginning at 10.40am. Two minutes of silence will be observed at 11am.
