Could the next Andy Murray or Johanna Konta be living in Barnet?

With Wimbledon in full swing, there is no better time to pick up a racket and get out on court.

There are a number of places to play in Barnet, whether you want to play for free on one of the many tennis courts in the parks, get back into tennis by joining a coached session, or for those who want to join a club, there are over 20 clubs to choose from.

Tennis coaching sessions for all ages are also available in selected Barnet parks this summer to introduce, or reintroduce, residents to the sport. Sessions are free of charge and you don’t even need to bring a racket.

Cllr Sachin Rajput, Chairman of Barnet’s Adults and Safeguarding Committee and Barnet Sport and Physical Activity Lead, said: “Tennis is a great form or exercise which can help increase your overall health. As well as increasing health and wellbeing, tennis provides an opportunity to socialise and enjoy sport with your friends and neighbours and with so many courts available, I encourage everyone to take part in this enjoyable activity.”
