Recycling and refuse collection days will be revised over the festive period where collection days may take place after residents’ normal collection days to work around the Christmas and New Year bank holidays. Scheduled blue recycling and black refuse bin collections will resume on residents’ usual collection days from the week commencing 6 January 2020.
Christmas bin collections
Real Christmas trees will be collected between 6 January and 1 February. If residents would like their real Christmas tree to be collected they must ensure it is cut in half and put the at the boundary of their property on their normal collection day.
Unwanted household items can be taken to the Reuse and Recycling Centre, Summers Lane, N12 0RF, which is open from 8.45am to 4.15pm every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years’ Day.
Any flattened cardboard that doesn’t fit in residents’ blue recycling bins can be put out alongside the bin in pieces no larger than one-metre squared. Christmas cards and wrapping paper that have any glitter or foil on them can’t be recycled.
