Signals upgrade works on Colindale Avenue and the A5 and Hoop Lane and Finchley Road
Barnet Council has completed signal upgrade works on two major junctions, significantly improving road and pedestrian safety.
The works on Colindale Avenue and the A5, and Hoop Lane and Finchley Road, both busy locations for both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, include an upgrade of the traffic signals and the installation of a new signalised crossing for pedestrians. Both junctions have also been resurfaced, as well as further improvements made to the pavements in the areas.
Residents in both areas were invited to have their say on the improvement works.
Cllr Alan Schneiderman, Cabinet Member for Environment & Climate Change, said:
“These essential improvement works are responding to concerns raised by residents and will provide a significant upgrade to pedestrian safety. We would like to thank all residents and businesses in the area for their patience and cooperation throughout the project”
The projects were funded by Transport for London (TFL) and were in response to concerns raised by residents, about the lack of pedestrian signal phasing at the junctions.
