Following the resignation of Councillor Ammar Naqvi, a by-election will be held for one councillor in the Burnt Oak ward on Thursday 13 February 2025. Polling stations in Burnt Oak will be open from 7am-10pm.
Voters on the electoral register in the Burnt Oak ward can vote (except British citizens living overseas). For anyone wishing to vote who has not yet registered they can do so online at Register to vote | Barnet Council. The deadline to register to vote at this election is Tuesday 28 January 2025.
Voting by post is also a convenient and secure way of voting, especially for those unable to go to their polling station. Anyone can Apply to vote by post | Barnet Council and the deadline to apply in time for this election is Wednesday 29 January by 5pm.
Voters are reminded that they now need to show a valid form of Voter ID when voting in a polling station – if a voter does not have suitable Voter ID, they can Apply for photo ID to vote (called a ‘Voter Authority Certificate’) - GOV.UK for which the deadline for this election is also 5pm on Wednesday 29 January.
