Have your say on improving life chances of Barnet’s children and young people

Published:

We have launched a survey for Barnet residents to share their views on its plans for improving life chances of children and young people living in the borough. The strategy outlines how we will work to improve young lives and increase their opportunities to succeed and is underpinned by our family friendly vision that is focused on making Barnet the most family friendly borough in London and a better place for all families to live.

Residents have until 4 December to respond to the survey

Chris Munday, director of Family Services, said: “Our ambition is to tackle child poverty and the damaging effects it has on the lives of children, young people and their families in Barnet. By enabling life chances, we can work to break the cycle of disadvantage that can blight young lives. Most young people have good opportunities in Barnet but we want all young people to have good outcomes. We recognise the need to work in partnership to ensure all young people have the opportunity to succeed and fulfil their potential.”

We have developed the Life Chances Strategy to support young people and families and achieve better outcomes for the next generation.  This strategy takes account of the effect of Covid-19 and includes plans for improving life chances for young people by addressing poverty and inequality in the borough.

Please take the time to read strategy then complete the online survey and share your views on the council’s plans for improving life chances for children and young people in Barnet.
