Council Chamber doors
Barnet Council is inviting prospective candidates to attend an online information session ahead of the Local Elections on Thursday 7 May 2026.
The session will take place on Monday 12 January 2026 at 6:15pm via Microsoft Teams and will provide an overview of what is involved in being a councillor. Topics will include:
- Supporting residents and representing your community
- Attending council meetings and understanding key responsibilities
- Guidance on the official nomination process and completing the required paperwork
Whether you intend to stand for a political party or as an independent candidate, this session will help you understand what to expect and how to prepare.
