Libraries technical issues

Author: Jennifer Dawson

Published:

All Barnet libraries are open for business and our main Library IT system has now been restored.

Whilst most services are now available to residents, a small number remain unavailable.  We continue to work to restore all remaining services, including online catalogue, reservations and online account access.

During the next few weeks we will be asking all library users to complete a membership application so that we can verify all the information we hold. There may be a small delay in issuing library items to you while we check our records. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience while we carry out this work.

Available services:

  • borrowing books and other items
  • book/item renewals in person (not available online currently)
  • use of Wi-Fi
  • access e-books and e-audio books
  • access to computers for adult
  • extended hours at Edgware Library

Extended hours at Edgware Library are now available.

To access the library during extended hours, users will need a Barnet library membership card and the new PIN that has been sent to users.

If you have not received a new PIN please call into any Barnet library so that we can verify you details and issue you with a new PIN.

As we are not able to process renewal of books/items online and by phone at the moment, no fines or charges will be made for items returned late as a result of this issue.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Please be assured, we are working hard to restore all services as soon as possible.
