Available at the Local Studies Centre

You can view directories containing streets listed alphabetically with a resident's name for each house number. You can also check an address using a resident's surname and there are commercial sections listing companies.

Directories are available for the following areas and dates:

• Barnet, Finchley, Friern Barnet, Hendon - 1886, 1892-1898, 1903, 1905, 1907-1909, 1911-1914
• Barnet 1916-1917, 1920-39, 1954-55, 1961-69
• Edgware - 1930-39, 1959-61
• Finchley - 1920, 1924, 1926-39, 1949-54, 1962-70
• Friern Barnet - 1920, 1924, 1926-39
• Hendon - 1920, 1926-39, 1950-53, 1959-60, 1962-70
• Hampstead Garden Suburb and Childs Hill - 1926, 1928, 1934-40, 1954, 1959, 1961
