What is Sensory Tennis?
Sensory Tennis is designed to make tennis accessible for people with complex disabilities and/or sensory impairments.
Taking part in this activity will support your:
- health and fitness
- coordination
- independence
- communication
- ability to carry out everyday tasks
Who is Sensory Tennis for?
Sensory Tennis is suitable for:
- adults aged 18 and over with complex disabilities and/or sensory impairments
- beginners
- people with tennis experience
All activities will be modified for the participant.
Lin, a Sensory Tennis participant, says: ‘I’ve always wanted more opportunities to play. Now, with Sensory Tennis, I can join in! I’m happy in these sessions because I’m always included in the game.’
About our Sensory Tennis leader
This activity is led by Jon Wildman, Head Tennis Coach at Get Set 4 Tennis.
Jon has lots of experience in coaching tennis and working with people with disabilities. He is friendly, considerate and adaptable in his delivery style.
