About religious or community parking permits
If you currently undertake religious or faith duties within the community as confirmed by your recognised place of worship, you may be eligible for a religious parking permit to be able to park your vehicle in Resident Permit Holders Only or Permit Holders Only parking place in the controlled hours.
The address of the place of worship does not have to be located within the borough of Barnet; however, the religious/faith duties being carried out must be within the borough of Barnet. The place of worship must be either certified under the Places of Worship Registration Act 1855 or belong to the Church of England.
The community and religious parking permit can only be used while undertaking religious or faith duties within the community and not for social, domestic or personal use. The community and religious parking permit should not be relied upon for parking at your home address.
Resident permits are available for this purpose and can be applied for if you live in a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
Signs on the street will give more information about the zone and its operating hours.
Religious or community parking permits are virtual, which means you do not need to display anything in your vehicle. Your permit is electronic and is associated with your vehicle registration number.
Patrolling Civil Enforcement Officers will be able to view your permit on their handheld computers.
You can apply for a 12 month permit.
You will receive email renewal reminders in advance of the permit expiry date.
Each place of worship can hold up to 3 permits at any one time.
